Hello and welcome to The Old-Time Radio Hour Blog. I'm your host Justeen Ward and each week we bring you a classic show from Radio's Golden Age. As Halloween approaches we have two episodes of occult mystery from The Weird Circle. They were produced in New York in 1943 and 44 for syndication through Mutual and NBC. A lot of the stories are adaptations of classic literature. First, we have a story written in 1824 by Walter Scott. It's a story of the supernatural set in the Scottish highlands. You'll get used to the accents as you let your imagination run wild with The Weird Circle "The Feast of Redgauntlet" first broadcast February 27, 1944 on RCA/NBC syndication. Next, an excellent horror story of an ill fated ocean journey and a strange box. The author of this tale is Edgar Allen Poe. There are no commercials because they were added locally in syndication. This is The Weird Circle "The Oblong Box" first broadcast January 5, 1945 on RCA/NBC syndication. The Old-Time Radio Hour broadcasts each week over the World Wide Web.
